Page Macrae Engineering refurbish pulp tank at Kinleith mill

Pulp tank refurbishment, Oji Fibre Solutions – Kinleith Mill

In recent months, the Page Macrae Engineering team have been at Oji Fibre Solutions – Kinleith Mill in Tokoroa, working on the refurbishment and reinstatement of a 2.6 million litre pulp tank, pipe bridge and platforms. The tank was nearing the end of its lifespan.

In a little over six months, the team completed construction of the new tank.

The tank roof was fabricated at our workshop in Tauranga and transported to site in two halves. Onsite, the roof halves were welded back together and then the new strakes and platforms were installed using our tank jacking system.

During a shutdown, the old tank was removed in two large lifts and cut down into manageable pieces for removal. Simultaneously the new tank was installed and the pipe bridge reinstated.

The team are proud to have recently completed the project. It now enables the mill to reintegrate the tank into its pulp manufacturing process.

Fabrication, maintenance and refurbishment projects like this take considerable planning by our Projects team, and great teamwork from our engineers and contractors to deliver the finished product to our client.

We’re proud of what they do.

Let’s talk about your next fabrication and maintenance project.
