At Page Macrae Engineering, safeguarding the health and safety of our employees,
subcontractors and our customers is of the utmost importance. "Safety First" is a
core value of our culture, and we are dedicated to protecting the health and safety
of all those associated with our company.
Our
policy is that our business be conducted in a safe environment and manner
at all times. A safe and healthy work environment impacts every measure of
a firm's success, from quality of work life to productivity and profitability
- our customers and our own.
Fundamental to our commitment is the integration of all health, safety and
environmental requirements into the workplace. We understand that each of us
plays a vital role in the completion of work in a safe manner. There is no job
so important that we cannot take the time to complete it safely and in a manner
that reflects our environmental commitment.
With our dedicated Health & Safety Advisor, we ensure that we are up to date with
current Health & Safety legislation, and regularly communicate policy, procedure
and performance achievement to our team.
HEALTH CHECKS
We believe that monitoring the health of our employees is important in order to
identify and minimise any long term effects from working in our industry. To
achieve this we employ an Occupational Health Nurse who carries out
regular health checks on all staff, whether on site, workshop or office based.
Included in these regular checks are hearing tests, eye sight tests, blood
pressure and peak flow monitoring.
TRAINING
Another area of extreme importance to us is our commitment to training our
employees. We provide extensive training for our personnel and keep account
of all plant, equipment and materials our staff are trained on. Along with
in-house training, all external training is recorded and maintained. These
include:
- Advanced fall arrest including basic rescue
- Confined space
- Forklift operation
- Crane use and load slinging
- First aid
- Fire extinguisher use
